Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has engaged in discussions with the Board of Directors of XRG, an investment company specializing in international gas, global chemicals, and low-carbon energies.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting provided a platform for H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed to explore XRG's investment opportunities and assess how the company plans to address the escalating global demand for lower-carbon energy. He emphasized the importance of focusing on initiatives that drive the growth of XRG, particularly in sectors such as gas, chemicals, and low-carbon energy, while aligning with ADNOC's interests and objectives.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed also underscored the need to enhance strategic global partnerships to fulfill the leadership's vision. These partnerships are expected to play a crucial role in executing impactful projects that bolster sustainable economic growth. XRG, which was launched during ADNOC's Annual Board of Directors Meeting in November 2024, boasts an enterprise value exceeding AED290 billion (US$80 billion). The company aims to meet the increasing global energy demand while promoting sustainable economic development through ADNOC's international investments in low-emission energy and chemicals.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, and Executive Chairman of XRG; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak bin Nawi Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President's Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Jon Gray, President and Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone; Nassef Sawiris, Executive Chair of OCI Global; and Bernard Looney, Chairman of Prometheus Hyperscale.
