Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, met with Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and CEO and Co-Founder of BYD, a prominent Chinese manufacturer of electric and hybrid vehicles. The meeting took place during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions centered on exploring cooperation opportunities and sharing expertise in the advancement of the electric and hybrid vehicle manufacturing sector. The aim is to support the development of an advanced industrial ecosystem that will enhance the competitiveness of the national economy by attracting leading global companies to priority economic sectors.
The dialogue also included reviewing strategies to bolster sustainability efforts and expedite the transition towards sustainable mobility solutions powered by alternative energy sources. This initiative aligns with the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, which seeks to adopt balanced development models integrating environmental and economic priorities at local, regional, and global levels.
The meeting was attended by key figures, including Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Dr. Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Department of Energy - Abu Dhabi; and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince.
