Livestock Festival Showcases Advanced Farming Technologies in Al Wathba

Al wathba: The Cows and Poultry event, a key component of the Livestock Festival, concluded yesterday at the Sheikh Zayed Festival. Held in conjunction with the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award, the event took place at the Award's pavilion and featured participation from various stakeholders in the livestock industry.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event was organized from 3rd to 9th January through a collaboration between the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, the Emirates Poultry Breeders Association, and specialized private firms. It was part of a broader national effort to bolster the livestock sector and enhance the UAE's sustainable food security system. The event attracted government entities, national farms, dairy and poultry producers, and private sector exhibitors, all focusing on showcasing advanced farming technologies.

Participants demonstrated modern practices in cattle and poultry farming, with an emphasis on productivity, biosecurity, smart farm management, and resource efficiency. The event also included educational and guidance programs aimed at encouraging breeders to adopt modern techniques, along with interactive activities for the public.

The Livestock Festival, continuing until mid-February, also announced 20 winners of the Best Breeds competition across several categories, such as Arab and West breeds and farm production classifications.

Adel Al-Shabibi, Chairman of the Livestock Festival Team, mentioned that the event underscores the festival's commitment to supporting food security-related production sectors. It aims to empower farmers and producers through collaborative efforts between government and private entities. Al-Shabibi highlighted the progress in Abu Dhabi's livestock sector, achieved through adopting global best practices and modern technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

He further noted that the event provided significant opportunities for knowledge exchange, showcased national success stories, and encouraged investment in smart agricultural solutions. This aligns with the leadership's vision for sustainable food security and support for local products.
