Mansoor and Latifa Attend Prestigious 24th Arab Media Award Ceremony


Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee, and H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, attended the 24th Arab Media Award (AMA) ceremony. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, the event was held on the second day of the Arab Media Summit under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.



According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre was attended by Dr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, and key figures from the media industry in the UAE and the wider Arab region. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted the ceremony’s alignment with the vision to establish Dubai as a central hub for Arab media, celebrating excellence in the sector.



H.H. Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the importance of media as a cornerstone for development and societal awareness. He praised the honored media professionals for their role in enhancing public discourse and maintaining high standards in media practices. The award-winning works were celebrated for their credibility, creativity, and responsibility, affirming the role of media in preserving national identity and promoting dialogue.



H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, with Mona Al Marri, presented the Media Personality of the Year award to Iraqi journalist Fakhri Karim for his significant contributions to Arab journalism. H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed presented the Best Columnist award to Egyptian journalist Suleiman Gouda for his insightful analysis and balanced commentary.



The event recognized nine winners across various categories, bringing the total number of awardees to 361 since the Award’s inception. H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed also presented awards in the TV category, honoring programs that excelled in economic, social, cultural, sports, and documentary segments.



Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed and Dr. Maitha Buhumaid presented the Arab Journalism awards, recognizing exemplary work in political, investigative, and economic journalism. The ceremony concluded with a commemorative photo of the winners with H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed.



Mona Al Marri congratulated all winners, stating that the Arab Media Award reflects Dubai’s position as a central hub for Arab media and a benchmark for excellence. She noted that the winners’ work exemplifies quality and impact, setting standards for the media industry.



The Arab Media Award continues to highlight professional excellence and high editorial standards amidst a rapidly evolving media landscape. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, it remains the leading recognition platform for innovative and impactful journalism in the Arab world, attracting over 2,900 submissions this year.
