Mohammed bin Rashid Celebrates UAE Champion of 10th Arab Reading Challenge

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, expressed his pride in the participation of over 830,000 students from across the UAE in the 10th edition of the Arab Reading Challenge. His Highness congratulated Danah Adel Al Zarouni, a Grade 6 student at Al Ittihad National Private School in Abu Dhabi, on winning the title of UAE Champion in this prestigious event.

According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony celebrating the achievement took place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. During the ceremony, Sheikha Latifa honored Danah Adel Al Zarouni, the runner-up, and winners in the People of Determination category.

Sheikha Latifa emphasized the UAE's commitment to promoting a culture of reading under its wise leadership. She described the Arab Reading Challenge as a significant national and intellectual milestone, recognizing its role in deepening knowledge and strengthening students' connection to their language and culture. She congratulated Danah and other participants, highlighting the role of educational institutions and families in fostering a love for reading among students.

The event was attended by prominent officials, including Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, and Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture, among others. The ceremony also recognized contributions from various educators and institutions. Student Yousef Mohammed Saeed Hamed was honored for winning in the People of Determination category, and Naima Al Amiri was named 'Outstanding Supervisor.' Hamad bin Abdullah Al Sharqi School in Fujairah was recognized as the 'Best School.'

The Arab Reading Challenge, launched in 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to promote reading across the Arab world. It seeks to nurture a passion for knowledge, strengthen language skills, and expose students to diverse cultural values. The initiative has grown significantly, involving millions of students globally and highlighting the UAE's commitment to education and cultural development.
