Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, met with Daniel Noboa, the President of the Republic of Ecuador, at Zabeel Palace in Dubai. The official meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and expanding friendly bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions, also attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and other senior officials, concentrated on strengthening ties in key sectors such as economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, tourism, agriculture, and the digital economy. These areas are crucial for the sustainable development and progress of both countries.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed expressed the UAE's eagerness to extend its economic and developmental partnerships with Ecuador and other Latin American countries, emphasizing shared interests and future aspirations. He reiterated the UAE's commitment, under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to build effective development partnerships worldwide, particularly in renewable energy and the digital economy, to support sustainable development for future generations.
President Daniel Noboa extended greetings from the people of Ecuador and conveyed their appreciation for the UAE's achievements. He expressed Ecuador's intent to leverage the UAE's experience in development and nation-building, while emphasizing Ecuador's commitment to expanding economic and investment partnerships with the UAE. This includes enhancing bilateral trade and exploring new cooperation avenues in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and modern technologies.
The meeting was attended by several UAE and Ecuadorian dignitaries, including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Mara Gabriela Sommerfeld Rosero, among others. The discussions also covered regional and international issues of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of joint efforts in promoting peace and stability to advance development goals and multilateral cooperation.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the recent growth in bilateral ties and outlined a vision for achieving a qualitative leap in cooperation through public and private sector partnerships in both countries, aiming to serve shared development objectives.
