Dubai: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF), an initiative by the Ministry of Finance aimed at bolstering the national innovation ecosystem, has unveiled its new headquarters at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) area.
According to Emirates News Agency, the launch event, themed 'Innovation for a Better Life,' was attended by Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, along with senior government officials, members of the Fund's Management Committee, and various partners. The event featured live showcases illustrating the real-world impact of MBRIF's support on its members and explored innovative pathways in line with the UAE's National Innovation Strategy.
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini remarked that the launch of MBRIF's new headquarters represents a significant step in enhancing the institutional framework supporting the UAE's innovation ecosystem. He emphasized the nation's dedication to translating strategic plans into concrete initiatives that advance sustainable economic growth. He also highlighted that innovation is a crucial strategy for enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, reiterated the UAE's commitment to establishing itself as a global hub for innovation. He noted that the country's leadership has set clear goals to foster an environment conducive to innovation, with the MBRIF playing a crucial role in achieving this vision by supporting high-growth startups and contributing to job creation.
Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of Emirates Development Bank, described the opening of the new headquarters as a pivotal milestone for the Fund. The space is designed to serve as an interactive platform that unites entrepreneurs, innovators, and investors to drive impactful partnerships and sustainable economic development.
As part of the launch celebrations, attendees were introduced to a special interactive artwork by renowned Emirati artist Abdulla Lutfi, titled 'Innovation for a Better Life.' The piece, featuring augmented reality (AR) technology, is permanently displayed at the MBRIF headquarters. The new headquarters aligns with a broader vision to strengthen private sector partnerships and expand innovation across key industries.
