Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today visited Gulfood 2025, the largest edition of the event to date, featuring 4,595 exhibitors from 106 countries.
According to Emirates News Agency, the 30th edition of Gulfood, running from 17th to 21st February at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), is themed ‘The Next Frontier in Food’. It provides a platform for the global food and beverage community to enhance engagement and establish new business connections while recognizing the industry’s shift towards new development and trade paradigms.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed acknowledged the exhibition’s growth over the years, pointing out that this edition is its largest, attracting leading companies worldwide and showcasing over a million products in Dubai. His Highness stressed the event’s significance as a platform for forming partnerships and closing deals in a vital global sector.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted the exhibition’s alignment with the UAE’s commitment to leading global efforts and fostering innovation to develop solutions that bolster the food sector, given its crucial role in ensuring global food security and sustainable development.
His Highness reiterated the UAE’s ambition to remain a global hub for partnerships and knowledge exchange to meet current needs and lay the groundwork for a prosperous future. Dubai continues to be a venue where innovative ideas addressing global challenges come together, driving advancements that improve the quality of life universally.
H.H. noted the exhibitions sector’s role in advancing the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double foreign trade and add 400 cities as key trading partners by 2033. He emphasized that major exhibitions hosted by Dubai provide opportunities to exchange ideas, discover new opportunities, and foster partnerships with the global private sector.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, toured a section of the exhibition, covering nearly one million square feet across 24 halls at the DWTC. H.H. also visited booths of national companies, acknowledging their contribution to the National Food Security Strategy 2051.
H.H. explored pavilions and stands of local and GCC companies such as Farzana and MGM, learning about their products and operations. Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed were Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Helal Saeed Al Marri, and Marwan bin Ghalita.
This year’s Gulfood focuses on strengthening trade relationships within the food and beverage manufacturing sector, reflecting its growth. The edition also emphasizes fostering commercial connections across continents, including Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
