MoHRE Urges Establishments to Meet Emiratisation Goals by December 2024.


Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has reiterated its appeal to private-sector companies under Emiratisation policies to achieve their targets by the end of December 2024. Compliant establishments will benefit from various privileges, while non-compliant ones will face financial contributions starting 1 January 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, Emiratisation policies apply to companies with 50 or more employees, requiring a 2% increase in Emirati employees in skilled roles by year-end. Non-compliant firms will incur financial contributions of AED96,000 per unfilled Emirati position.

Additionally, certain establishments with 20 to 49 workers across 14 economic activities must employ at least one Emirati and retain those hired before 1 January 2024. These companies will also face a AED96,000 contribution for each unfilled Emirati position.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to monitoring compliance, aligning with Cabinet policies to sustain the success of Emiratis
in the private sector, where over 117,000 nationals are employed in 22,000 companies.

MoHRE is dedicated to aiding companies in meeting their targets, thereby boosting the private sector’s role in government efforts to increase Emirati professionals in the labor market and drive the UAE’s sustainable development. This supports the nation’s strategic economic objectives and transition to a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.

Establishments are encouraged to use the Nafis platform for connecting with Emirati job-seekers, and to register employees in relevant systems like pension and social security, while processing salaries through the Wage Protection System.

Compliant companies will enjoy incentives from the Emiratisation Partners Club, including discounts on Ministry fees and priority in government procurement, enhancing growth prospects.

The Ministry is confident in the private sector’s adherence to Emiratisation policies, warning against negative practices like fake Emiratisation schemes. It st
ressed the effectiveness of its oversight in identifying and addressing any violations.

MoHRE also advised Emirati job-seekers to verify job offer authenticity to avoid fake schemes and benefit from the Nafis programme, which supports their economic contributions.

UAE citizens are encouraged to report policy violations via the Ministry’s call centre or digital platforms.
