Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) is organizing the 8th edition of the Industrialists Career Exhibition on June 8-9 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center. This event serves as a vital platform for connecting Emirati talent with career and training opportunities within the UAE's burgeoning industrial and advanced technology sectors.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Industrialists exhibition, inaugurated in 2023, aims to provide 5,000 job opportunities for Emiratis in the industrial sector by 2027. This year's exhibition will feature over 70 participating companies and offer more than 1,000 new job opportunities in strategic sectors such as advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, engineering, industrial services, and clean energy. With this, the program has surpassed its initial goal, set during Make it in the Emirates 2023, achieving more than 5,200 jobs for Emirati citizens a year ahead of schedule.
The exhibition is designed to facilitate direct engagement between Emirati jobseekers and leading industrial and technology employers. It offers participants on-site interviews, career guidance, and mentoring sessions, thereby enhancing their readiness to join the future workforce in priority industrial sectors. The event is being delivered in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and ADNOC, alongside sponsors such as Forvis Mazars, SLB, and ZCAA.
The UAE is currently undergoing an ambitious industrial transformation, with the industrial sector's contribution increasing by approximately 70% since 2021 and exports doubling to AED 262 billion in 2025. Such progress underscores the necessity for highly skilled national talent to propel the next phase of growth. Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of MoIAT, highlighted the exhibition's role in empowering national talent and bridging the gap between education and the evolving job market demands.
The exhibition also aligns with the efforts of the Nafis program and the Make it in the Emirates initiative, which focus on training and empowering Emiratis to pursue sustainable career paths in emerging industries. Ghanam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of ETCC, emphasized the importance of aligning individual aspirations with the real needs of the job market to build a competitive Emirati workforce.
Contributions from strategic partners such as ADIO and ADNOC further bolster the exhibition's impact. Mohammad Ali Al Kamali of ADIO pointed out the significance of developing UAE national talent for sustainable economic growth, while Omar Abdulla Alnuaimi of ADNOC reaffirmed the organization's commitment to creating high-skilled job opportunities for local talent through its In-Country Value (ICV) program.
The event highlights the importance of collaboration among government, semi-government, and private entities in empowering Emirati talent for emerging sectors. Dr. Abdulla Al Shimmari from the Department of Government Empowerment emphasized the role of the Mawaheb Center in upskilling job seekers and supporting sustainable career paths. Additionally, Ali Al Mansoori of e and stressed the value of investing in national capabilities to lead in high-value sectors.
Overall, the Industrialists Career Exhibition, launched under the National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme in 2023, continues to strengthen Emirati employment and private sector participation across the UAE's industrial ecosystem. It reflects the country's commitment to empowering Emirati talent to play a central role in shaping the future of industry and advanced technology.
