Nahyan bin Mubarak Launches ‘Gardens of Tolerance’ Initiative.

Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, joined by Yoo Jehseung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the UAE, inaugurated Umm Al Emarat Park as the first location in the ‘Gardens of Tolerance’ initiative, marking a significant step in promoting cultural understanding and harmony.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event featured the ‘Tolerance Walk’ led by Sheikh Nahyan, followed by the unveiling of the ‘Gardens of Tolerance’, a dedicated sanctuary within the park. This garden will display a collection of Emirati and Korean trees and plants, symbolizing the friendship between the two nations. The ceremony, attended by ambassadors from various countries, included the planting of native trees from both the UAE and South Korea, representing the enduring collaboration between the two countries.

The festival, organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Korea Festival 2024, celebrates the
cultures of the UAE and South Korea, emphasizing coexistence and harmony. A major highlight will be a performance by K-pop group The Wind, who will bring their energy to the park with their biggest hits, celebrating tolerance and respect through music.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Korean culture through performances such as the ‘Unbelievable Show’ by Bubble J, K-Nongak by the Gwangju City Municipal Gwangjiwon Nongak Band, and Taekwondo displays by Akh Unit and the KCC Youth Taekwondo Team. Additionally, Emirati heritage will be showcased through interactive sessions featuring traditional crafts and storytelling, allowing visitors to engage with Emirati history and customs.
