The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad al-Sudani, reaffirmed the importance of the armed forces' commitment to their professional, constitutional and legal path, within the development process, consolidating security and civil peace, and protecting a decent life for all of our Iraqi people throughout the country.
Al-Sudani said, during his meeting with the leaders and commanders who participated in the liberation operations of Nineveh: "We must preserve the work of the security establishment and its professional path in accordance with the law and the constitution, which is a commitment of all political forces, and within the political agreement under which the government was formed, and the House of Representatives voted on it."
Al-Sudani stressed: "The liberation of Mosul is one of the important battles, at a time when everyone expected that the war would be decided in favor of the state of myth and the end of the state of Iraq."
Al-Sudani said: "The whole world owes and appreciates the sacrifices of the Iraqis in that battle, because the ISIS gang did not only target Iraq, but it was a bigger conspiracy to target the countries of the region."
He added: "The stance of the religious authority represented by His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, and the sacrifices of the Iraqis are what thwarted the plot of ISIS.
