Abu dhabi: The UAE Public Prosecution has issued a warning against the publication or circulation of rumours, false news, or information from unknown sources via social media platforms or other information technology means. Such actions could lead to confusion and potentially harm the security and stability of society.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Public Prosecution stressed the importance of obtaining information only from official and approved sources. It cautioned against being misled by content that is disseminated without proper verification.
The Public Prosecution also warned that individuals who share or republish content from unknown sources could face legal accountability under the country's existing laws, regardless of whether they are the original creators of the content.
