Sharjah: Emirati writer Dr Jaber Al Nuaimi was honoured by the Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC) on Thursday, alongside a group of authors whose works will be featured in the department's 2025 publications, totaling 131 titles across various creative fields.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr Jaber Al Nuaimi highlighted that SDC supports authors in publishing their work in multiple domains, including criticism, short stories, novels, poetry, theatre, children's literature, academic theses, media, and visual arts. This initiative underscores the department's commitment to nurturing literary and artistic talent across the region.
Al Nuaimi elaborated on the department's role in publishing works that contribute to the sciences, ideas, and literature on the Arab, Emirati, and global scenes. His own book, titled 'Employing Popular Heritage in the Emirati Theatrical Text', is a doctoral thesis that examines how Emirati playwrights utilize heritage as a dynamic component in enhancing theatrical texts, critiquing current realities, and envisioning future possibilities.
