Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired a meeting at the Ruler's Office on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of SEC, where a series of significant topics were discussed.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council concentrated on evaluating the performance of government departments and agencies. Discussions included reviewing legislation and laws aimed at enhancing the government work system, improving institutional performance, and elevating the quality of services provided to bolster the comprehensive development process in Sharjah.
The Council gave its approval to a draft law concerning the organisation of the Correctional and Punitive Institution in the Emirate of Sharjah. This draft aims to delineate the institution's general policy, execute specialised programs that contribute to security and reform, and uphold the dignity of inmates while protecting their rights. The draft law is set to be forwarded to the Sharjah Consultative Council for further discussion and completion of its legislative process.
Additionally, the Council issued a resolution concerning traffic tolls in the Emirate of Sharjah. This resolution involves transforming truck toll gates into electronic gates, referred to as "Masaar". These electronic gates are designed to regulate truck movement, streamline crossing procedures, enhance traffic flow, and improve the efficiency of the transport system. This initiative supports traffic safety and promotes digital transformation in services.
