Sharjah: The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened its meeting chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council. Discussions focused on various aspects of government work, policies, and strategies to further the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah.
According to Emirates News Agency, a key resolution passed during the meeting was the regulation of brokerage activities in Souq Al Haraj. The resolution mandates that no natural person can engage in brokerage activities within the Auto Market without a permit from the Sharjah Asset Management Company. It outlines administrative penalties and judicial actions for violators, as determined by the President of the Judicial Council.
The Council also reviewed the 2024 annual report from the Sharjah Airport Authority, highlighting significant achievements in passenger and aircraft traffic, as well as advancements in services and infrastructure. The report noted a rise in passenger traffic to over 17 million, alongside increases in aircraft traffic and air cargo volume, underscoring the airport’s growing reputation and service quality.
The airport’s development projects include 12 new aircraft stands, an expanded passenger check-in area, and a new engineering and maintenance building. Additionally, new destinations and airlines have been attracted, enhancing the airport’s operational capacity. The report emphasized the airport’s accolades in 2024, such as being recognized as a child- and family-friendly destination and part of the “Building Better Airports” initiative for its infrastructure advancements.
