Sharjah Government Media Entities Reveal Comprehensive Agenda for 3rd Global Media Congress.


Abu Dhabi: The Sharjah government media authorities have announced an engaging agenda for the third Global Media Congress, which will take place in Abu Dhabi from November 26th to 28th. Leading media stakeholders from the emirate, including the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, and Sharjah Media City (Shams), are set to host 21 interactive sessions, workshops, and debates over the event’s three days.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Sharjah government media entities aim to showcase the emirate’s vibrant media, cultural, and investment projects, drawing on its rich history while pursuing ambitious goals for the future. These offerings will highlight Sharjah’s pioneering role in education, investment opportunities, youth empowerment, communication models, innovation, and the integration of artificial intelligence in media.

Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, emphasized the evolution of Sharjah’s media institutions in l
ine with the emirate’s dynamic media vision, incorporating modern tools to produce world-class content. The Global Media Congress serves as a crucial platform for dialogue and expertise exchange across media formats, Khalaf noted.

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, pointed to Sharjah’s strong participation as an opportunity to highlight the emirate’s achievements and examine ideas that enhance the UAE media sector. The Abu Dhabi media summit has solidified its position as a key industry event regionally and globally, Allay added.

Rashid Abdullah Al Obed, Director of Shams, reiterated the city’s commitment to supporting media professionals and fostering creativity. Shams’ programs during the congress aim to enhance public knowledge and equip participants to navigate the evolving media landscape. Al Obed also mentioned Shams Studios as a forthcoming hub for regional creativity.

The Sharjah Pavilion will host numerous sessions, including “From Innovation to Application
: Education in Sharjah is a Pioneering Global Model,” and “Scientific Journalism in the Arab Media,” featuring prominent figures in education and media. Other sessions will explore government communication, child safety, sustainable food security, and the intersection of media specializations with the labor market.

Additionally, the pavilion will feature discussions on artificial intelligence’s role in media, with sessions led by experts like Moaz Saleh Al-Omari. The ‘Shams Talks’ podcast and the ‘Innovate with Shams’ AI platform will explore future media content trends.

Visitors to the Global Media Congress can also experience Sharjah’s cultural and scientific heritage through an exhibition titled ‘Artefacts from Sharjah Museums,’ organized by the Sharjah Museums Authority. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the emirate’s rich history, where culture, science, and art converge.

age, scenario writing, content creation, and the application of artificial intelligence in media. These sessions aim to empower participants with skills relevant to the contemporary media landscape.
