Sharjah Ruler Orders Employment of 1,000 Emiratis in January 2026

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued a directive for the employment of 1,000 Emirati men and women within the Government of Sharjah during January 2026. This initiative continues efforts to employ citizens, following the successful recruitment of 3,145 citizens during 2025. Interviews for the January vacancies are set to begin next Monday.

According to Emirates News Agency, this directive is part of a series of initiatives under the direct supervision of H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah. These initiatives focus on creating additional jobs to support citizen employment, empower national cadres, and strengthen Emirati family stability. In 2025, new employees were distributed across various entities within the Government of Sharjah, with appointments including 1,994 males and 1,151 females, costing over AED 950 million.

The Ruler of Sharjah prioritizes the employment of citizens to provide job opportunities that enable young people to contribute to the comprehensive development process. This initiative aims to foster stable families with a dignified standard of living and supply government entities with qualified competencies, enhancing government work performance.
