Sharjah Sports Club Clinches Sixth Emirati-Korean Taekwondo Championship Title.


Sharjah: Sharjah Sports Club was crowned champions of the eighth Emirati-Korean Taekwondo Friendship Championship, winning the men’s category cup in a tournament held at the Sharjah Sports Club gymnasium in Al Hazana with the participation of over 190 players representing 12 clubs from the country.

According to Emirates News Agency, the club’s athletes clinched their sixth title in this championship after previously winning it five times, asserting their dominance by securing 20 medals, including 5 gold, 6 silver, and 9 bronze medals. The championship took place amidst a high-spirited atmosphere, with players showcasing their skills and abilities. Sharjah’s team managed to dominate and confirm their strength by claiming the prestigious title.

Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, board member and head of individual games, congratulated the team on their outstanding performance, praising the significant work of the administrative and coaching staff led by Captain Abdullah Hatem. Al-Hajri emphasised their u
nwavering confidence in the team, considering them the game’s dominant force that achieves outstanding results both domestically and internationally. Most recently, the team secured 6 coloured medals in the G1-ranked Qatar International Open Championship, along with two gold and silver medals in the G1-ranked Croatia International Open Championship. He highlighted that these achievements are a result of the plans and work carried out in managing individual games.

The head of individual games noted that the Taekwondo team lived up to expectations, adding another new achievement to the club’s repertoire aiming for first place in all its participations. He stated that they will continue preparing all club teams to compete in all available championships.
