Sharjah: The Second International Conference on Applied Research in Humanities and Social Sciences is set to commence next Wednesday at the University of Sharjah, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University.According to Emirates News Agency, the event is organized by the University's Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and will run from 10th to 12th February. The conference will gather a significant number of scholars and academics from both local and international universities and research institutions. The opening session is scheduled for 11th February at the Women's campus, where participants will engage in scientific sessions and interactive workshops with contributions from leading scientists and experts.The conference seeks to emphasize the role of AI in advancing research within the humanities and social sciences, focusing on its ability to address social, ethical, and environmental challenges through innova tive thinking. It will also explore the intersection of AI with social research, the application of data-driven methods, and the importance of maintaining scientific ethics while responsibly using emerging technologies.Key themes include the future of research on society, family, and childhood in the AI era, AI's applications in social security and crime prediction, and the ethical responsibilities of using AI in research. Sessions will also cover topics such as green innovation and governance (ESG), AI's role in Islamic and legal studies, and evolving research in humanities and social sciences, including media and communication studies, public health, and the fine arts.
