Dubai: Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Office, attended the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The pavilion highlighted Sharjah’s digital journey and its vision for human-centred digital integration, featuring participation from 20 government institutions.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Dr Salem was presented with an overview of innovative digital experiences and technological projects showcased by various government entities. These initiatives aim to improve digital integration across Sharjah, enhance government services, and advance a sustainable, human-focused digital future. The pavilion’s four major themes included digital experiences, environmental sustainability, smart cities, and humanity, showcasing the collaborative efforts of government entities in using artificial intelligence and data connectivity to provide efficient, inclusive services.
Sheikh Dr Salem also attended the ‘Sharjah Digital Hackathon’, organised by the Sharjah Digital Department in collaboration with Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators and the Sharjah Youth Council. This programme encourages government innovation and strengthens Sharjah’s position in developing smart and sustainable cities. It empowers young people and government experts to create AI-powered solutions for infrastructure and public services.
During his visit, Sheikh Dr Salem was briefed on the ‘Digital Experiences’ system and observed the ‘Sharjah Digital Assistant’ initiative. This real-time, interactive text- and voice-based assistant allows users to access information and conduct transactions effortlessly. He also explored the ‘Aqari’ project, a centralised digital platform for real estate services, providing accurate and reliable data to enhance user experience and decision-making in the property market.
Additionally, the Chairman of the Ruler’s Office learned about ‘Nabni,’ a platform that simplifies construction procedures using AI technologies. ‘Nabni’ offers a comprehensive suite of services, including contractor classification, building permits, and other engineering permissions. He also examined the ‘Virtual Assistant for Sharjah Government Employees’ initiative, designed to incorporate AI capabilities into the work environment, increasing efficiency and saving time through integrated agency responses.
The Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025 showcases the emirate’s commitment to digital governance and its status as a hub for digital excellence and sustainable innovation. Sheikh Dr Salem was accompanied by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Digital Department, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Municipal Affairs, and several senior officials and representatives from participating entities.
