Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, recently chaired a meeting of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) at Qasr Al Watan. The meeting focused on reviewing the strategic and operational consultancy project updates, as well as future plans to boost investment in the autonomous systems sector within Abu Dhabi.According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions at the meeting aimed at enhancing the operating environment for smart transportation by promoting the adoption of advanced technology and artificial intelligence-driven solutions. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of developing a unified strategy to position the autonomous smart systems industry as a significant economic driver. He stressed the need to identify stakeholders' requirements, facilitating the establishment of contracts and strategic partnerships, and attracting leading companies to Abu Dhabi.Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the role of smart a utonomous systems in advancing logistics services by integrating sustainable, autonomous transportation solutions. This initiative is intended to improve the efficiency of transport systems across land, sea, and air, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's status as a regional leader in sustainable transportation solutions and a hub for specialized talent.The meeting also addressed the development of incentive programs aimed at encouraging innovative projects within the autonomous systems sector, aligning with Abu Dhabi's technological transformation efforts. These programs focus on enhancing operational efficiency in logistics, commercial transportation, and freight using autonomous technologies.Additionally, the meeting discussed SASC's strategy outcomes and future projects, including the establishment of comprehensive infrastructure and the application of advanced technologies across key economic sectors. Plans for collaborating with stakeholders to streamline approval processes for autonomous systems in testing facil ities were also considered, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and sustainable practices.The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, and Badr Saleem Sultan Al-Olama.
