Sheikh Hamdan Meets Indian Unicorn CEOs to Foster Global Partnerships


Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, welcomed over 40 founders and CEOs of Indian unicorn companies, who are members of the Griffin Club for Indian Billionaire Entrepreneurs.



According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE. During the gathering, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of building cross-sector and cross-border partnerships as a vital component of Dubai’s forward-thinking approach. This vision aligns with fostering international cooperation to create a prosperous future.



Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Dubai’s commitment, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to economic development. The city continues to offer a business environment conducive to attracting quality investments, reinforcing its status as a preferred destination for global unicorns and start-ups seeking to grow in regional and international markets.



The Crown Prince reiterated the leadership’s dedication to supporting entrepreneurs, investors, and unicorn companies. This support manifests through a flexible legislative framework, advanced digital infrastructure, and efficient government services that encourage innovation and bolster confidence in Dubai’s business environment.



The meeting was part of the World Governments Summit – Griffin Dialogue, aimed at creating new opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange between global entrepreneurs and governments. It also spotlighted successful experiences in transforming start-ups into impactful global companies.



Discussions focused on enhancing cross-sector partnerships in the digital economy, advanced technologies, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The dialogue also explored global trends in developing an AI-driven, knowledge-based economy that promotes sustainable development. The potential for start-ups to scale into unicorns was also examined, drawing on the UAE’s experience with flexible legislation and promising investment opportunities.



The delegation of unicorn company founders represented over forty leading entrepreneurs across vital sectors such as advanced technology, education, healthcare, fintech, space, retail, delivery, logistics, and other key industries shaping the future economy and government work.



The meeting was further attended by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Vice Chairman of the World Governments Summit; Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Mohamed Alsharhan, Managing Director, World Governments Summit.
