Sheikha Fatima Honors Distinguished Female Graduates from UAE Universities

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), has honored outstanding female graduates who achieved distinction with honors from UAE University (45th cohort), Zayed University (24th cohort), and the Higher Colleges of Technology (35th cohort).

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikha Fatima expressed that the increasing number of female graduates from these institutions is a testament to the UAE's leadership efforts in enhancing education and improving its outcomes. She emphasized that the academic achievements of these graduates are a source of pride for Emirati women, who are committed to contributing to society and achieving national development goals.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue their journey of excellence, serving the nation and building future generations in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She highlighted the importance of family development and preserving UAE's values, culture, and heritage.

Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmanan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed that the strong presence of Emirati women in higher education is due to continuous support from the UAE leadership. He noted that Emirati female graduates constitute around 66% of Emirati students in higher education, showcasing their participation in various academic and scientific fields.

He detailed that 20% of female students focus on business administration and related fields, with 14% in engineering, 13% in health specialties, and 12% in computer science and IT. Dr. Al Awar also highlighted the significant contributions of Emirati women in vital sectors, including holding 91% of citizen-occupied healthcare jobs in the private sector and 55% of leadership positions, demonstrating their vital role in the nation's development.
