Shurooq Unveils 2026 Family Theatre Season at Al Qasba for Eid Al Adha

Sharjah: Masrah Al Qasba is set to commence its 2026 live family theatre season during the Eid Al Adha holiday, showcasing a year-long programme inspired by classic fairytales and children's stories. This initiative will run through December at Al Qasba, a lively family destination developed by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), and will feature four stage productions designed to engage both children and their parents.

According to Emirates News Agency, the programme will kick off with 'Magic Phil: Staying Silly at Sea', an English-language performance scheduled from 27th to 30th May during the Eid Al Adha break. The season continues with 'Goldilocks and Magic Phil's Back to School', a reimagined version of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears', which combines storytelling with elements of comedy and illusion.

As autumn arrives, audiences will be treated to 'Aladdin', a production that brings to life the adventures of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, and the Genie as they face the sorcerer Jafar. This show is inspired by Arabian-themed storytelling and stage design, promising an enchanting experience for attendees.

The 2026 theatre season will conclude in December with a performance of 'The Wizard of Oz'. This production will follow Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion on their journey along the yellow brick road, exploring themes of friendship and courage.

Khalid Al Ali, Manager of Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront, stated that the theatre season underscores Al Qasba's dedication to fostering cultural experiences that unite families and align with Sharjah's vision of promoting creativity and community engagement. He highlighted the programme's aim to offer high-quality entertainment experiences for children and families while solidifying Al Qasba's role as a hub for family entertainment and cultural activities.
