Abu Dhabi: The Stern School of Business at New York University Abu Dhabi (Stern at NYUAD), a collaboration between the NYU Stern School of Business (NYU Stern) and NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), has announced its official inauguration. The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Shamma bint Sohail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, NYU Trustee and Managing Director and Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company.
According to Emirates News Agency, the launch of Stern at NYUAD marks the introduction of the highest globally ranked business school offering a full-time MBA in the UAE and MENA region. Graduates of Stern at NYUAD will receive a fully accredited MBA degree, awarded jointly by NYU Stern and NYU Abu Dhabi, linking them to a global alumni network spanning over 130 countries.
The inaugural programme welcomes a cohort of 54 candidates with an average GPA of 3.6, representing 25 countries. The largest groups are from the UAE and the United States, with notable representation from India, China, and Pakistan. This diverse cohort contributes to a global perspective in the classroom.
Rima Al Mokarrab highlighted the launch as a testament to the partnership between NYU and Abu Dhabi. Linda G. Mills emphasized the programme's role in providing transformative global education. Professor Fabio Piano described the opening as a pivotal milestone in NYU Abu Dhabi's mission in global higher education.
The one-year full-time MBA programme is designed for early-career professionals, offering 54 credits and matching the rigor of traditional two-year MBA programmes. It includes modules in Abu Dhabi and New York City, providing international exposure and industry expertise from prominent business leaders.
