Abu dhabi: The Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) has opened submissions for the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG), part of EAD, the awards aim to recognise organisations and individuals who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing sustainability across the region.

According to Emirates News Agency, as the awards enter their 10th year, EAD is calling upon public, private, and not-for-profit entities to participate in this edition. The awards highlight the relationship between environmental stewardship and economic competitiveness. The 2026 ceremony is scheduled for 29th September 2026 at the Jumeirah Saadiyat Island hotel.

The Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards have become a key platform for recognising excellence and inspiring progress. Over the past decade, organisations participating have evolved from early adopters to leaders of systemic change, setting a benchmark for responsible business practices across the emirate and beyond. The 2026 edition invites organisations to showcase their achievements and celebrate a decade of ambition, collaboration, and impact.

Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, stated that the awards mark 10 years of commitment that has led to measurable progress and stronger ecosystems. She emphasized that environmental resilience is crucial to Abu Dhabi's long-term prosperity and that the recognised organisations exemplify the leadership needed to translate ambition into tangible outcomes. Dr. Al Dhaheri urges every organisation shaping a thriving future to participate in this year's awards.

Eng. Abdulla Mohammed Al Remeithi, Executive Director of the Integrated Environmental Policy and Planning Sector at EAD, noted that the awards have evolved from a recognition programme to a catalyst for real change. He observed that each year, organisations raise their ambitions and invest in stronger reporting, stakeholder engagement, and impact measurement.

The 2026 awards will recognise excellence across six established categories: Best Sustainability Initiative, Best Sustainability Report, Sustainability Manager of the Year, Sustainability Leader of the Year, Best Sustainability Communication Programme, and Best Energy Management Initiative. Organisations from all sectors are invited to submit entries showcasing their sustainability achievements, innovations, and leadership.
