Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, honoured the winners of the ninth edition of the "Thank You" Award for Sharjah Broadcasting Authority employees at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.
According to Emirates News Agency, this year's award recognised Aisha Al Mazmi (Administrator) and Ahmed Mohammed (Technician) from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority category. Sheikha Ahmed Al Ketbi was honoured from Al Sharqiya Channel category, and Mahmoud Abdulqader Saleh from Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid category. The ceremony also celebrated the direct managers of the winners.
The event commenced with a speech by Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, who expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi for gracing the occasion and honouring the winners. Al Ghaithi highlighted the ceremony's role as a tradition that reflects the Authority's commitment to recognising innovation and motivating employees in line with the mission set by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
In his address, Al Ghaithi announced updates to the award's voting mechanism, noting that the final decision now relies 30 percent on the jury's evaluation and 70 percent on employee votes on the ceremony day. He emphasized the award's significance in supporting the Authority's mission and celebrating the diligent efforts of its employees.
The ceremony featured a visual presentation showcasing the journey and achievements of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority over its 36-year history. A display about the award included employee dialogues highlighting its importance in fostering motivation. Attendees also enjoyed an artistic performance with light paintings and music.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan also toured an exhibition of talented employees' works, held alongside the honouring event. The exhibition featured creative contributions such as handicrafts, artistic drawings, installation works, electronics, and photography, reflecting the diverse talents of the employees.
The "Thank You" Award, initiated nine years ago, serves as a platform to honour employees for their exceptional contributions, improve work procedures, and foster cooperation with other governmental entities. It aims to encourage excellence, highlight distinguished employees, and create a competitive and efficient work environment.
The event was attended by Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council, directors of satellite channels and radio stations at the Authority, and numerous employees.
