Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UOS), attended the graduation ceremony for 476 undergraduate students from the Fall 2025 class at the University of Sharjah (UOS) at the University City Hall on Saturday morning.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony began with the national anthem of the UAE, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, and concluded with a speech by Dr. Essam Al Din Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah. In his speech, Dr. Ajami thanked and appreciated H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for setting the insightful vision, adopting the university's mission, and laying out the roadmap for building a human being armed with values and ethics before knowledge.
Addressing the graduating students, Dr. Ajami stated, "Today, you are standing on the threshold of a real stage, where science is moving from the realm of achievement to the space of application, from the classroom to the fields of life, and from theory to tangible reality in cognitive life. You have acquired knowledge and been trained in scientific methodology. Now it is time to translate this science into tangible effect, this knowledge into added value, and this effort into a service to the community."
The Chancellor emphasized that UOS is not just about its physical structures but about its promise to nurture human beings. He highlighted the university's focus on linking knowledge to values and directing scientific research towards solving real problems, stressing the importance of students being partners in shaping the future. Dr. Ajami expressed his pride in the university's academic presence and its reputation as a leader among influential universities locally and regionally.
Dr. Ajami offered graduates advice, urging them to preserve their identity while being open to the world. He emphasized the importance of balancing roots and wings as the secret to success in a globalized world.
The Chancellor also expressed appreciation to the graduates' parents, acknowledging their essential role as partners in their children's educational journey. He praised the faculty members for their dedication in imparting knowledge, values, and ethics to students.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Ajami expressed confidence in the graduates' abilities and optimism for their future. He urged them to measure success not just by personal achievements but by the impact they have on others' lives.
Abdullah Yousef Al Sayegh, a graduate of the College of Business Administration, delivered a speech expressing pride in the culmination of an academic journey. He emphasized that graduation marks not just obtaining a certificate but the transition to responsibility and life beyond academia.
Al Sayegh thanked the university's founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for their support. He praised the academic and administrative staff for their contributions to students' personal and intellectual growth.
Al Sayegh concluded by pledging that graduates would be ambassadors for the University of Sharjah, committed to serving the community and making a positive impact.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi presented certificates to 476 graduates from various colleges, including Sharia and Islamic Studies, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, Fine Arts and Design, Communication, Science, Computing and Informatics, and Public Policy. He congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their future endeavors.
