Sultan Bin Ahmed Crowns SBA with Ramadan Media Championship Title


Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, crowned the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) team as winners of the inaugural Sharjah Media Ramadan Football Championship at the Sharjah Police Club stadium.



According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Sultan presented the championship trophy to the SBA team, congratulating them on their victory and expressing hopes for their continued success in future sporting events. He emphasized the championship’s objective to foster institutional belonging and enhance bonds among media entities within the emirate. The event also aimed to promote physical activity and a culture of sports, while instilling values of fair play and sportsmanship.



The Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council commended the technical prowess of the participating teams, noting the championship’s success in enhancing communication among media professionals. It fostered an environment of positive interaction and friendly competition, embodying a spirit of unity. Sheikh Sultan also acknowledged the efforts of all participating teams, encouraging them to sustain such initiatives to strengthen professional and social ties.



Furthermore, Sheikh Sultan honored referees, sponsors, and supporters, including Basma Group, Sharjah National Oil Corporation, Sharjah Police, and the University of Sharjah. Individual awards for Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Championship Top Scorer were also distributed. The championship, characterized by competitiveness and enthusiasm, featured four teams in a round-robin format, with each team playing three matches.



Among the attendees were Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Tariq Saeed Allay, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Khamis Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Professor Dr Issam Al Din Ajami, and other officials and supporters of the participating teams.
