Abu dhabi: In the presence of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, chaired a meeting of the Abu Dhabi Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council.
According to Emirates News Agency, during the meeting, the Council reviewed the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027, which aims to transform Abu Dhabi into the world's first AI-enabled government by 2027. The discussion included the latest global developments in AI and updates on projects, investments, and research related to artificial intelligence and advanced technology in the emirate.
H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended the initiatives designed to train Abu Dhabi Government employees in AI applications, as well as community programs that enhance public awareness of AI uses. These initiatives enable society to participate in the digital transformation journey, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's position as a hub for innovation and advanced technology, aligning with the UAE's economic priorities in future-oriented sectors.
His Highness highlighted the Council's ongoing efforts to support future sectors and advanced technology, in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the leadership's support for these areas. The Council focuses on developing and implementing policies related to AI technologies, fostering investments, and promoting research, all of which complement Abu Dhabi's strategy to establish itself as a global destination for investments and exceptional talent in this field.
The council meeting also addressed opportunities to integrate cutting-edge technologies to improve services and enhance quality of life, by examining global trends and investment prospects in the sector. The discussions extended to Abu Dhabi's AI vision, including attracting leading global AI companies, recruiting top talent, and boosting the emirate's international competitiveness.
Members received briefings on key projects and initiatives led by major national entities such as Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Department of Government Enablement, and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).
Since its inception in January 2024, the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council has been instrumental in proposing targeted policies to foster an environment conducive to AI application, supporting research and innovation, and enhancing collaboration between public and private sectors, including international institutions, to accelerate AI adoption in Abu Dhabi.
