Abu dhabi: Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement (Tawazun) has announced its participation in the seventh edition of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition (UMEX) and the Simulation and Training Exhibition (SIMTEX), scheduled from 20th to 22nd January 2026 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council will also be involved in the International Defence Conference, set for 19th January 2026, themed “Smart Horizons: Redefining Defence Through Intelligent Autonomy.” During the three-day event, the Council will announce contracts signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.
Dr. Nasser Hamid Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, highlighted the Council’s enthusiasm for participating in these exhibitions and the accompanying conference. These events align with Tawazun’s strategic objectives of enhancing national capabilities, fostering research and development, and supporting specialized national industries, especially in the fields of unmanned systems, simulation and training, and AI.
He stressed the significance of these exhibitions as a key opportunity for the defence industries sector to connect with leading global institutions and companies specializing in unmanned systems development. Al Nuaimi pointed out that such events provide practical platforms for manufacturers and providers of unmanned systems to display innovations while establishing commercial relationships and strategic partnerships that will advance national defence industries.
Al Nuaimi further explained that emerging technologies, including AI, have become essential in the modern defence sector. Tawazun has adopted several specialized strategies and initiatives to enable the defence and security industries sector to incorporate AI technologies into its solutions and products.
Saif Ali Al Marzooqi, Senior Advisor, Strategy and Executive Affairs, mentioned that Tawazun’s pavilion at the exhibitions will be a platform to highlight the council’s projects and initiatives, aiming for excellence in defence industries. He stated that the pavilion will feature the Tawazun Industrial Park and several companies supported by Tawazun, focusing on unmanned systems, robotics, and drone technology, including Sandan, AirQ, FalconiX, and Analog.
Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement acts as a national enabler dedicated to transforming defence and security priorities into targeted institutional, industrial, and economic outcomes within the UAE ecosystem.
