Third International Programme for Civil Aviation Leaders Set to Launch in Dubai.


DUBAI: The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), in collaboration with the Government Experience Exchange Office (GEEO) at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, is set to launch the third edition of the “International Programme for Civil Aviation Leaders” in Dubai from November 18th to 21st. This significant event will be attended by Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA, alongside more than 20 ministers responsible for air transport and the heads and directors of civil aviation authorities from various Arab countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, Abdullah Al Marri highlighted the UAE’s commitment to fostering the civil aviation sector’s regional and global competitiveness through innovative national initiatives. He stated that the programme serves as a valuable platform for showcasing the UAE’s advancements in the civil aviation sector by uniting a distinguished group of leaders, experts, and specialists in air transport. s, cooperation, and knowledge-sharing with Arab nations to advance the civil aviation sector, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and advanced aviation technologies.

Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, emphasized that the programme embodies the UAE’s leadership vision of knowledge transfer and best practices sharing. The initiative aims to build specialized capacities and drive progress across various sectors, enhancing future readiness. Lootah highlighted the UAE’s commitment to sharing successful models developed in government operations, economic, developmental, and societal fields with both sisterly and friendly countries.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, remarked that the programme will strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange within the Arab civil aviation sector. The participation of over 20 ministers and executives underscores the collective commitment to developing this vital sector and highlights the
importance of Arab cooperation in building a sustainable future for aviation.

The programme, launched in 2019, aims to deepen understanding of the links between aviation, economic development, and government innovation. This edition will feature strategic presentations and discussions on key topics such as aviation’s economic contributions, government transformation, strategic foresight, and sustainable aviation. The event will be held at various UAE landmarks, including the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, Emirates Towers, Emirates Engineering Centre, the Sustainability Pavilion at Expo City, and a site visit to Strata.
