Abu dhabi: TRENDS Group is marking its inaugural presence at the 36th Hong Kong International Book Fair 2026, which commenced today and will continue until July 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The representation is spearheaded by TRENDS Research and Advisory through its virtual office in China.
According to Emirates News Agency, the pavilion features approximately 500 specialized academic and research publications, addressing political, economic, strategic, technological, social, and cultural topics. A notable highlight is the research encyclopedia on the Muslim Brotherhood, a key knowledge project by TRENDS, with several volumes available in 16 languages.
Coinciding with the fair, TRENDS Research and Advisory is introducing a new publication titled "Labour Markets in the Age of AI." This book delves into the profound changes occurring in labor markets amid the swift progression of artificial intelligence technologies, addressing both the opportunities and challenges these digital transformations present.
As part of its dedication to empowering youth and fostering intellectual dialogue, TRENDS Global, a sector of the Group, will host a symposium titled "Preserving Cultural Legacy in the Digital Age: How Young People are Redefining Heritage." This session will discuss how modern technology can be utilized by young people as a tool to maintain human identity and cultural heritage, adapting it to the digital era's demands.
TRENDS has outlined a comprehensive agenda for the exhibition, featuring events, official meetings, and strategic agreements. A significant highlight includes the signing of a major distribution agreement with the Chinese company CPS, which will extend the reach of TRENDS' publications to a broader audience in China and Asia.
The agenda also features a dialogue session with the Centre on Contemporary China and the World at the University of Hong Kong to explore collaborative opportunities and the exchange of expertise in research and knowledge production.
Additionally, the delegation will engage in a series of official meetings with government officials, research and academic institutions, and both Chinese and international publishing houses. These engagements aim to strengthen TRENDS' role as an independent research institution and its growing influence in the global knowledge community.
Rawdha Al-Marzouqi, Head of Distribution and Publishing Sector at TRENDS, emphasized that the Group's participation marks a strategic milestone in its global expansion. Al-Marzouqi stated, "We are not participating simply to display our publications. We are here with a clear vision to build knowledge bridges between East and West and create a lasting intellectual impact that serves the global research community."
Hazza Saif Al-Hammadi, Director of the Exhibitions Department at TRENDS, highlighted the participation as a crucial step in enhancing the Group's global presence. He noted that the Hong Kong International Book Fair serves as a strategic platform to engage with Asian and international publishers, along with cultural and research institutions, fostering valuable opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Zayed Khalid Al-Dhaheri, Director of the Distribution Department at TRENDS, remarked that participating in this major cultural event aligns with the Group's vision to expand the academic and geographical reach of its publications.
