Turkiye Exports Reach Record-High $21 Billion in August

Turkish Trade Minister, Omar Bulat, announced today that his country recorded exports totaling USD 21 billion in August of last year, highlighting that this is the highest export value ever for the month.

He explained in a social media post that Turkiye's exports grew by 1.6 percent in August of the previous year.

The Turkish minister pointed out that the export value reached this level despite the slowdown in the global economy and the effects of the earthquake that Turkiye experienced last February.

He stated, that Turkish exports rose to USD 21.619 billion in August, an increase of 1.6 percent.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed in statements in June of the previous year his country's aspiration to increase its exports to USD 265 billion by the end of this year and to USD 285 billion next year.

He also emphasized Turkiye's aim to achieve exports of more than USD 400 billion dollars by the year 2028.
