U.S. Secretary of Defense Receives Minister of Defense for Official Talks

Washington, The U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin received the Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, today at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington.

This meeting is part of Prince Khalid's official visit to the United States.

Upon his arrival at the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters, the minister of defense was greeted with an official reception that included a guard of honour and the playing of the national anthems of both countries. Then, Prince Khalid wrote down a statement in the official visitors' book on this occasion.

Afterwards, the two ministers held a session of official talks, where they reviewed the historical friendship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.

They reaffirmed the two countries' strategic partnership in the military and defense sectors, discussed ways to strengthen and enhance it, and highlighted the leading regional and international roles of both countries in achieving global peace and security.

Both ministers also tackled the latest regional and international developments and the efforts being exerted in accordance with the shared vision of both countries. In addition, they delved into several matters of mutual interest.

Attending the meeting were the Saudi Ambassador to the U.S., Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, as well as several Saudi and U.S. senior officials.
