Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems engaged nine unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on March 25, 2026. This incident marks a continuation of the ongoing aggression from Iran against the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, since the escalation of hostilities, UAE air defences have been actively responding to various projectile threats. To date, they have intercepted 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,815 UAVs. These persistent attacks have led to the tragic loss of life, including the martyrdom of three members of the UAE armed forces who were fulfilling their national duties. Additionally, there have been six civilian fatalities, affecting individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Palestine.
The conflict has also resulted in injuries to 166 people from a broad spectrum of nationalities. The severity of injuries varies from minor to severe. Those injured include citizens from the UAE and expatriates from Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
The UAE Ministry of Defence has reiterated its commitment to maintaining readiness to counter any threats. The Ministry emphasized its resolve to firmly confront any attempts to compromise the nation's security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability, while safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
