Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems successfully intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 26 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on March 12. This interception is part of ongoing efforts to counteract aggressive actions in the region.
According to Emirates News Agency, since the beginning of Iranian hostilities, UAE air defences have been engaged in neutralizing a total of 278 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,540 UAVs. These attacks have led to six fatalities among nationals from the UAE, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, along with 131 individuals suffering minor to moderate injuries. The injured include people from countries such as Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, and several others.
The Ministry of Defence has emphasized its full preparedness to address any potential threats. It has pledged to confront any attempts that aim to compromise the nation’s security, thereby ensuring the protection of UAE’s sovereignty, security, and stability while safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
