UAE and Kenya Presidents Discuss Strengthening Cooperation Under CEPA

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, who is currently on a working visit to the UAE. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors including investment, development, renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure, under the framework of the UAE-Kenya Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

According to Emirates News Agency, both leaders expressed their commitment to advancing the objectives of CEPA, aiming to build on the existing momentum in bilateral relations to unlock new opportunities for economic and development cooperation. This initiative aligns with the future aspirations of both countries, seeking to support mutual interests and foster prosperity for their citizens.

The meeting also involved a review of developments in the Middle East, examining their implications for regional and international security and stability. The leaders discussed concerns related to maritime security and the impact on the global economy. Additionally, they addressed the Iranian attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in the UAE and other regional countries, with President Ruto reiterating Kenya's condemnation of these acts as violations of sovereignty and international law, undermining regional peace and security.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, along with several ministers and officials.
