UAE and Mauritania Strengthen Ties Amid Regional Security Issues

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, who is on a working visit to the UAE. The two leaders engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation, with a focus on economic and renewable energy sectors, to advance the development goals of both countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE and Mauritanian Presidents affirmed their commitment to strengthening ties in a manner supportive of sustainable growth. They reviewed regional and international issues of shared interest, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East and its implications for regional and global peace, security, and economic stability. The discussions highlighted concerns about maritime security and energy supply chains.

The leaders addressed recent Iranian attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in the UAE and the region. President El Ghazouani condemned these actions, deeming them violations of sovereignty and international norms, and praised the UAE's measures to protect its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.

The meeting saw the attendance of notable UAE officials, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, and other key figures.
