UAE and Philippines Presidents Discuss Bilateral Ties During Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Excellency Ferdinand R Marcos Jr, President of the Republic of the Philippines, to review the longstanding ties between the two countries. The meeting occurred during President Marcos' visit to the UAE for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in areas such as the economy, trade, investment, and renewable energy. The leaders explored opportunities that align with the shared development priorities of both nations. The ongoing agreements for renewable energy projects in the Philippines, led by Masdar, were highlighted as a testament to their commitment to sustainable development.

The meeting also covered the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement set to be signed during President Marcos' visit. This agreement is anticipated to bolster economic and investment ties, creating new opportunities for growth. The UAE is recognized as one of the Philippines' main trading partners in the region.

Both leaders expressed a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral relations across various fields, aiming for mutual benefits and prosperity. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and several ministers and senior officials.
