abu dhabi: Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, emphasized the UAE’s efforts to solidify its leading position across numerous areas, guided by the nation’s leadership. He credited the advancements to the direction provided by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with Their Highnesses the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Owais highlighted the UAE’s role in fostering a model of national harmony, characterized by the unity of its citizens under the guidance of its leaders. During the opening of the second regular session of the 18th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council, he expressed that t
his marks the beginning of a new era in national and institutional work. This era aims to build on the accomplishments of previous legislative chapters, meet the aspirations of the people, and reinforce the Shura approach initiated by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the UAE’s founding fathers.
Al Owais noted that the regular session aims to continue the successes of the previous session in terms of integration and cooperation between the government and the Federal National Council, with the goal of fostering national growth. He mentioned the significance of the second session of the 18th legislative chapter, which coincides with the ongoing ‘UAE Year of Sustainability’ initiatives, extending into 2024 following an announcement by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The minister also referenced the burgeoning culture of political participation fostered by the political empowerment program announced by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on t
he 34th National Day of the Union. He reiterated the crucial role of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs in enhancing cooperation between the government and the Federal National Council, promoting legislative and executive integration, and increasing awareness of national parliamentary life and political participation to drive sustainable development in line with the leadership’s vision.
