Abu Dhabi: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) hosted the UAE Innovates exhibition at the Emirates Towers Boulevard as part of UAE Innovates 2025, which ran throughout February. The exhibition highlighted recent government innovations that have made a significant impact on the country and its citizens.
According to Emirates News Agency, UAE Innovates featured ten standout innovations, including an interactive mirror maze that engaged visitors in the unexpected journey of bringing innovations to life. Abeer Tahlak, Director of MBRCGI, emphasized that the UAE government has made strides in fostering innovation by creating an environment conducive to producing solutions that serve society. The exhibition raised awareness of the importance of innovation in government and recognized top innovators who are transforming ways of working to create a tangible impact on society.
The showcased innovations were from ten federal and local government entities, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Interior. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment presented the Plant the Emirates National Programme, which uses smart technologies to enhance local agriculture. The Ministry of Economy introduced a National Digital Platform for Monitoring Essential Commodity Prices to ensure compliance with price ceilings.
Emirates Health Services' Digital Twin initiative aims to optimize hospital operations with data-driven insights, while the Ministry of Interior's Smart Examiner uses technology to streamline driving tests. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security showcased a Smart and Fast Travel system that enhances the passenger journey with facial recognition technology.
Dubai Civil Aviation Authority's drone delivery system is part of broader smart transport solutions, and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority's LiDAR Technology for Road Assessment contributes to maintaining road standards. Dubai Airports' smart aircraft diversion monitoring system leverages AI to improve aircraft operations, and Dubai Municipality's Building X provides real-time data to enhance building efficiency.
Fujairah Environment Authority developed a smart system for mapping water resources and managing flood risks, addressing environmental challenges. UAE Innovates 2025, held under 'The Power of Innovation 10 - Where Does Your Strength Lie?', aligns with the Year of Community, emphasizing the UAE's commitment to progress centered around its people.
