Abu dhabi: The UAE Journalist Association (UAEJA) has won a seat on the Executive Committee of the Federation of Asia Pacific Journalists (FAPaJ). The elections for the Executive Committee saw the successful election of Reem Al Braiki from the United Arab Emirates, alongside representatives from Bahrain, Palestine, and Oman.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Federation’s General Assembly elected Indonesian journalist Nani Afrida as President of the Federation. Additionally, Salem bin Hamad Al Jahwari, Vice President of the Omani Journalists Association, was re-elected as Vice President for a second term, reflecting the continued trust in his leadership.
Reem Al Braiki emphasized that this achievement is a testament to the active participation of the UAEJA in regional and international forums. The UAEJA has been consistently supporting journalism and advocating for journalists’ causes worldwide, contributing to this significant recognition.
The FAPaJ is a regional group affiliated with the International Federation of Journalists. It comprises representatives from across West, East, South, and Central Asia, as well as the Pacific, highlighting the diverse geographic representation within the organization.
