Dubai: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced the launch of the UAE National MMA Championship 2, scheduled to occur from February 22nd to 23rd at Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai. The event promises robust participation from athletes representing various clubs and academies nationwide.
According to Emirates News Agency, the federation highlighted that the second edition is a follow-up to the successful inaugural championship, underscoring the growing significance of mixed martial arts in the UAE. The level of participation from athletes across the country reflects the event’s rising importance.
The championship is open to athletes across multiple age categories, including Youth D for ages 10 to 11, Youth C for ages 12 to 13, Youth B for ages 14 to 15, Youth A for ages 16 to 17, and the Seniors category for those aged 18 and above.
Mohammed Jassim Al Hosani, a member of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee at the Federation, stated that the championship is instrumental in the Federation’s strategy to expand the base of mixed martial arts practitioners. This initiative aligns with the leadership’s vision to enhance the sport and strengthen the UAE’s position in combat sports.
He further noted that hosting competitions that meet international standards aids in improving athletes’ skills, supporting young talents, and preparing them to represent the country in global events.
