Islamabad: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistani Prime Minister His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held talks today focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan. The discussions centered on key areas such as economy, investment, and development, aiming to align with their mutual interests and shared vision for future progress and prosperity.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting occurred during His Highness' official visit to Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Sheikh Mohamed, marking the visit as a significant milestone in UAE-Pakistan relations and a reflection of both nations' commitment to deepening their ties.
The leaders also exchanged perspectives on regional and international issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of initiatives that support peace, security, and stability globally. Sheikh Mohamed expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received and emphasized the strong cultural and people-to-people ties between the UAE and Pakistan, recalling the efforts of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in strengthening these relations.
Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's interest in expanding cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in development-focused sectors like economy, energy, investment, and technology. He also highlighted the need for continued coordination on regional and international matters, noting Pakistan's current seat on the UN Security Council as a valuable opportunity to bolster joint peace efforts.
The UAE President affirmed the nation's consistent approach of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy, viewing these as the most effective methods for overcoming challenges and fostering global development and prosperity. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the UAE's developmental initiatives in Pakistan and the growing bilateral ties, acknowledging Sheikh Mohamed's role in promoting regional and international stability and cooperation.
The meeting was attended by a delegation accompanying Sheikh Mohamed, including Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, along with several ministers and officials. From the Pakistani side, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, and various ministers and senior officials were present.
