Dar Es Salaam: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the 'Mother of the Nation Order' upon H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania. This honor is awarded in recognition of her achievements and efforts in fostering sustainable prosperity and strengthening social cohesion.
According to Emirates News Agency, the decoration was presented by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting with the Tanzanian leader. The event was attended by Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, marking the commencement of the UAE top diplomat's visit to the East African nation.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Hassan, expressing hopes for continued progress and prosperity for Tanzania. President Hassan reciprocated with her greetings to the UAE President, expressing wishes for sustained prosperity for the UAE.
The talks focused on strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Tanzania in various fields, including economic, trade, investment, and development. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's commitment to enhancing cooperation and building partnerships with Tanzania for mutual sustainable development and prosperity.
Following the discussions, Sheikh Abdullah and President Hassan witnessed the signing of several agreements, including a mutual administrative cooperation agreement on customs matters, signed by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan and Tanzanian Minister of Finance Mwigulu L. Nchemba. An MoU on investment cooperation in the mining sector was also signed, along with another MoU establishing a bilateral Business Council between the chambers of commerce of both nations.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, and Khalifa Abdulrahman Al Marzouqi, the UAE Ambassador to Tanzania.
