Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received His Excellency ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬°variste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, during the meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, His Highness welcomed the Burundian President and congratulated him on Burundi's Unity Day, which is marked on February 5. He conveyed his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Burundi and its people.
The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the economic, investment, and renewable energy sectors, as well as other areas of mutual interest. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in a manner that serves their mutual interests and delivers tangible benefits to their peoples.
Additionally, His Highness and President Ndayishimiye exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual concern. They emphasized the importance of supporting peace and stability on both a regional and global scale, recognizing their significance in advancing sustainable development and prosperity.
The meeting saw the attendance of several key figures, including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region; H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region; and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, along with other sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials.
