Tokyo: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a written letter to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, focusing on bilateral cooperation and enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the UAE and Japan. The letter was delivered by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Japan, during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office in Tokyo.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was attended by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, and Shihab Al Faheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber conveyed the greetings of the UAE President to the Japanese Prime Minister and expressed wishes for Japan's continued development and prosperity. In response, Sanae Takaichi extended her greetings to His Highness and expressed her hopes for further progress and prosperity for the UAE.
Discussions between the two sides focused on opportunities to bolster cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed in 2022. Both parties acknowledged the successful conclusion of negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber highlighted the UAE leadership's commitment to enhancing its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Japan. He emphasized the intent to explore new avenues for cooperation, particularly in areas such as economy, energy, industry, advanced technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, space, sustainability, education, and culture. These efforts aim to support mutual interests and achieve sustainable development goals in both nations.
