UAE Supplies 52.1% of Japan’s Crude Oil Needs in June

Tokyo: Japan's imports of crude oil from the UAE surpassed 31 million barrels in June 2025, representing 52.1% of the country's total crude oil imports for the month. This significant import volume underscores the UAE's role as a key supplier in meeting Japan's energy needs.

According to Emirates News Agency, official data from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy revealed that Japan's total crude oil imports for June reached 59.6 million barrels. Of these, 97.7%, or 58.2 million barrels, were sourced from Arab countries, highlighting the region's importance in Japan's energy strategy.
